Fat
Tire Festival Returns to its Roots
Strap
on your helmet and get ready for 4 days of fun and Halloween mischief.
This is a year of new beginnings for the Festival. The bike shops
of Moab in an unprecedented fit of cooperation and
united by mutual love of anything having to do with two wheels,
have been working hard to bring you a grassroots Festival from
the heart of Moab. It has been exciting for us to see how much
the town of Moab supports bike riding. You’ll see more local
businesses involved this year than ever before.
The bike industry has long enjoyed catching the last bit of riding
before the end of the season and showing off the latest cool stuff
in Moab at the Fat Tire Festival. The Festival Venue has been
moved to the centrally located courtyard of the Ramada Inn, just
a few cranks of the pedals from great places to eat, sleep, ride,
and drink.
Since we can’t ride our bikes all day and all night we have
some awesome activities lined up when it’s time to get off
the bike. If you haven’t experienced Halloween in Moab,
all we have to say is “Don’t
Hold Back!” Be sure to dress to excess for the Halloween
Party, your alter ego has been waiting all year for this opportunity
to go wild. Fox Racing will wow you with a visual tour of what
is possible on two wheels. The Beer Garden and Expo will be a
great place to relax after riding. The Fashion Show…well,
you’ll just have to attend this wacky event. We promise
you will be entertained!
Perhaps
the biggest news is the riding, the reason that we are all here.
Moab has some of the most amazing riding any where with a year
round riding season. Along with the classics (it’s hard
to pass up
a run down Porcupine no matter how many times you’ve done
it!) we are proud to introduce two new rides this Festival. Check
out the Sovereign Trail and the Fisher Mesa Single Track, all
the thrills and
joys of single track riding right here in Moab. Same classic Moab
views and technical fun with a single track twist! The Moab Trail
Alliance is working to expand the Moab trail system for non-motorized
use. Look for new and expanded trails and an expanded bike path
on your future visits to Moab.
Get ready for some great riding and great parties and events.
